Love is in the air! At least in the Phillipines. According to a Yahoo! news article, over 6,000 couples help set the all-time simultaneous kisses this past Saturday at midnight. It happened in the Phillipines. My question is why didn’t they wait til Valentine’s Day? Too many lovers’ quarrels over crappy chocolates or wilted roses?

The previous record was set by couples in Hungary. 5,875 couples kissed at the same time for that record back in 2005. Howard Belton, the man behind the lip smacking event, said “We broke the record, it’s great”. Hold on to your tidey whities Belton, the Guinness Book of Records hasn’t verified anything just yet.

An unofficial tally does put the total number of couples at around 6,124. The couples were treated to a background of fireworks, confetti, a giant TV screen and red balloons. Because nothing gets men hotter than exploding firebombs on a giant televison! And that comes from personal first-hand knowledge.

When the hell is the US going to get in on this? We should not be out-smooched I say! It’s a national outrage. We should aim to set the next record with 6,900 couples smooching at the same time! Or 69,000?! That’ll show everyone who’s got the best and biggest kissers!
