A beauty contest by any other name is still a beauty contest. Unless you live in Iceland.

According to an article on Yahoo!, a small town in Iceland is hosting a new type of beauty contest. They’re going to reward the saggiest, wrinkliest and most blemished person who enters. It’s a whole new beauty pageant: contests for the ugly.

For those of you inclined to travel to Iceland, the event will be on April 18 in the town of Isafjoerdur. In case you skipped that day in Geography, Isafjoerdur is in the northwest corner of Iceland.

The festivities are open to all men and women who are at least 20 years old. There’s no maximum age so grab your saucy Grandma and go.

In true beginner fashion, no prizes have been decided upon as of yet. An organizer, Matthildur Helgadottir, thought perhaps the “fun and honour” of taking part would be sufficient reward for contestants. In other words, they don’t have any money and don’t feel like raising any to buy prizes for the entrants.

Helgadottir, a self-professed feminist (I would’ve called her that anyway) says about the beauty contest, “Anyone can make the rules about what beauty is, we want to change the rules…”

She continues, “We think it’s just coincidence if you have big breasts. How come this is beautiful? We are trying to show how ridiculous this is,” Helgadottir said.

The article didn’t include photos of Helgadottir but I’m guessing she’s either flat-chested, bearded or slightly flabby. Or maybe it’s a combination of all three.
